My homeroom teacher told me that my promotion speech essay was really long. It was single spaced, 11 font Calibri. When I was timing myself reading the speech out loud, it took me a total of 7 minutes to read it thoroughly! Obviously, this went past the time limit of 1 1/2 minute. She told me to turn it in anyway and see if the vice principal likes it. If she does, then I may chop off some parts in my speech.
Today was the Post STAR BBQ at my school. My friends and I get to help out with nearly half of the set up. It was pretty fun and exciting. Considering the fact that we don’t have to take the Geometry Placement test because, we are already in geometry. I helped out by painting a welcome banner along with my friend for the entrance to the party. We went crazy with the paint together and I accidentally got a little paint on my pants. Everyone seemed really happy; we all had an amazing time. Sadly, this will be my last year experiencing the bbq. Since I will be in high school next year, I won’t get the chance to participate in this thrilling event ever again. Might as well cherish it right?
Haha, I brought my camera to school without the memory stick! I would’ve post a picture on my blog if I remember to put back the memory stick in the camera. UGH! I want to show you guys some of the funny pictures of my friends when they fall off the slides.

A lot has happened over the past few days. Finals are nearly over and I only have like almost 3 weeks left of school. Much of which is preparing for high school. Like all of you guys have said, high school is a challenge, and I believed that 100%. I know very well that there is a huge challenge approaching me soon. That’s why I want to get myself mentally prepare in order to conquer this quest.
Remember that speech essay I told you guys about? Well, I am 85% completed. It took me nearly 30 mins just to think of what to write for the first 2 paragraphs of my speech. I swear, I my brain was frying as I sat there with a blank expression thinking of what to type next. In the end, I managed to weave my way through the essay. I’m wrapping up everything now so that’s good. My essay will have a total of 5 long paragraphs back-to-back. Hopefully it won’t bored the audiences’ head off. Anyway here is an excerpt:
Greetings to all parents, teachers, staff, and fellow graduates. My name is Emily [last name] and I am one of the eighth graders here at [school name]. Throughout the courses of my life I have never experienced such joy and excitement until I set foot at this phenomenal school. Being a member at [school name] is truly a standing ovation. For the past few years that I have been to this school, a lot of remarkable and sensational events have occurred. Looking back, I still remember the days where school was just a playground in my point of view. I’m always hyped up, and I never had the thought of doing something great with the abilities I have. Every single lovely morning I wake up thinking, “Oh, it’s just another day of school and another day of being plain and bored.” [school name] successfully changed that for me wonderfully. This excellent school has sparked a light in my candle of knowledge. My work habits began to improve, I became even more socializing towards other people, and I’ve conquered basically all of the weakest subjects in my education. Day by day, I have continued to advance through almost everything that I could possibly can. There are so many wondrous aspects I want to state about [school name]. As desperate as can be, I want to show everybody with my heart how I feel about this school. It’s like the second home in life. This is the place where I am together with friends, and share many memorable memories. Most importantly, it is a place where I could be myself.
^ This is the first paragraph of the speech. I didn’t want to copy and paste everything because, it will surely fill up a whole lot of space in this blog. Tell me what you think of the introduction so far. I really do need some honest feedbacks before I turn this in to my teacher.
That’s all there is left to say as of now. Tomorrow, oh yes; I will blog a million because a lot of exciting things will be taking place at my school (:
